One of my anthropomorphic Twisted Trees from a single Ozark pigment. Sustenance is painted entirely in pigment from a stone found in Madison county, Arkansas that yields this brilliant orange color.

I never know what the tree’s personality or features will be until it reveals itself to me. Once that point arrives, I refine the lines to bring about the vision. The title reflects upon the breast – of all mammals, the source of sustenance. In humans, the breasts are a source of sustenance, but also comfort and sensuality.

This 5 x 7″ painting is on watercolor paper which has been permanently mounted onto a birch cradleboard. It is varnished for UV/environmental protection and framed without glass, with a sample of the pigment rock attached to the frame.

Prints

All of my prints are processed in house with a professional giclée art printer using archival inks. The paper is archival watercolor paper for high quality prints. This one is only available as a 5 x 7″ print, as that is the size of the original.
