Beat the heat and stay inside… but also get outside, lol. Just stay in your car for most of it where hopefully you have A/C. My little truck doesn’t, but the heat is tolerable in the shady areas where we’ll linger the longest on this Dirt Road Herb and Nature Drive.
While this nature experience is a very slow drive, your vehicle will need to be capable of driving on dirt and gravel roads. Small cars with low ground clearance and low-profile tires are not a good idea. ATV’s, trucks, or any car with good clearance and full profile tires are fine. The road isn’t terrible, but there are lots of small rocks and some potholes. We travel very slowly anyway, though, so unless your tires are threadbare, you should make it.
Read my post about why it takes me an hour to get to the post office in Kingston. It will give you an idea of the sorts of things I love during a slow drive down our dirt road.
Whenever I see plants to show you, and there are a LOT, I’ll stop to point them out. You’re welcome to get out of the car and come closer for photos or a better view.
