Herb Walk & Nature Journaling at Wild Ozark
Join me for an herbwalk with or without nature journaling! Unless you’re flexible, email madison@wildozark.com before paying to check availability on desired date. After the date is set, I’ll send you the directions to get to Wild Ozark and a liability waiver. In the event of a rain-out, you can reschedule or request a refund.
Description
These walks are designed to be 1 hour. Private walks can take more time.
Here at Wild Ozark, we have incredible biodiversity. Book an Herb Walk today on your choice of days (except Mondays and Fridays). You have four options to choose from:
- An Herb Walk – I’ll show you the plants I know and use, we’ll go over how to identify plants using the clues they provide.
- Herb Walk & Nature Journaling – record your observations with sketches, writing, or poetry. Commune with the plants.
- A Private Herbwalk or Herbwalk/Nature Journaling Experience
See also: Slow-Dirt Drive, where I’ll lead you slowly down our dirt road to do an herbwalk and/or nature journaling from your vehicle.
When:
Any day except Mondays or Fridays. Email me at madison@wildozark.com before checking out to check availability for the date you want, unless you’re flexible.
What to bring:
- tick repellent
- sturdy shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
- bottle of water & snacks
- a backpack or bag for your supplies
- your art supplies if you’ve chosen the nature-journaling experience
- a notebook and pencil if you want to take notes
Just the Herb Walk
We’ll start at the Wild Ozark Ginseng Habitat Garden and wander the creekside and paths around here.
Herb Walk & Nature Journaling
A slower pace than just the herb walk. We’ll stop to make quick sketches and record observations in our nature journals.
Private Herb Walk or Nature Journaling Experience
If you’d rather not join a group of others, or want to book your own private group, choose this option.
Some of the Plants to See
There are so many more than these. We have a large variety of trees, native plants, edible and medicinal herbs. While I won’t give medical advice or detailed use instructions, I know many of the medicinal and edible plants and trees. I’ll point them out and help you learn to identify them. If there is something in particular that you want to see, email me to see if we have it here. To read more about my experience with plants and see more photos, read this blog post about an herb walk at Wild Ozark.
