Fine-ground Whole Ozark Earth Pigments
Earthy yellow, earthy green and brown (magnetite) in stock now. Ozark pigments from locally foraged rocks in 4 oz jars, finely ground. You’ll need to grind in a mortar/pestle or ball mill for better results, but washing the pigment produces the finest pigment. Used as is or with more grinding without washing will produce a textured paint. Washing and using the color after it settles produces the smoothest paint. If you wash, save the heavier sediment to grind again and pour the colored water into a new jar to settle & collect the very fine pigment.
A Painting of a Skink | Hello, Little Friend

A Study of Felkins Creek in Summer
The idea that I can paint rocks with paint made from rocks still feels pretty awesome to me. This is Felkins creek, a tributary that feeds Kings River not too far from where it begins. I probably gathered some of the rocks that went into this at this very spot.
